There are so many good spots to stay in Paris and to be honest most of Paris feels so close and connected because of the amazing metro system. But, it is still a daunting task for first or second timers to choose accommodation from an infinite scroll of areas, so I have listed some of my picks for ideal locations.
Le Marais 3rd Arrondissement
This is one of my favourite spots. Your close to boutique shops and high street stores, cafes and phenomenal restaurants. It’s only a few stops from the cite and a short stroll to the River Seine. Montemarte 18th Arrondissement
I thought this area would be packed with tourists, but because it’s a little further from the city it actually had a true Parisian vibe. Rue de Martyrs is a street lined with restaurants and boutique shops, perfect for an afternoon stroll. The people watching is the best part and spotting a mansion apartment behind the heavy fortress doors is a common occurrence. Madeleine 8th Arrondissement
Let’s talk about being central. This area is a hub of bustling cafes, restaurants and shops. The streets can be filled with people, but sometimes that is half the fun when you’re travelling. For fashionistas, Printemps is down the road, a huge department store made up of designer threads – ladies take note! One final request for anyone embarking on a Parisian trip, spend a little extra for a balcony room. It’s the only way to truely experience Paris like the locals – sipping rose and watching the people below.x
